Event: An Audience with Joanne Harris - 7.45pm - Join Joanne Harris (OBE, FRSL) and she discusses her new novel Vianne. Returning to the world of Chocolat, the long awaited story of Vianne begins 6 years before she opens her scandalous chocolaterie. Joanne is the author of twenty novels, three cookbooks and many short stories. She is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature, an honorary Fellow of St. Catharine's College, Cambridge, was Chair of the Society of Authors between 2020 and 2024, and in 2022 was awarded an OBE by the Queen. She was born in Barnsley in Yorkshire and grew up above her grandparents' sweet shop. Joanne will be joined in conversation by Matthew Stadlen.

Event: An Audience with Sir Malcolm Rifkind - 7.45pm - Sir Malcolm Rifkind became a member of the Cabinet in 1986 as Secretary of State for Scotland. In 1990 he became Secretary of State for Transport and in 1992 Secretary of State for Defence. From 1995-97 he was Foreign Secretary. He served as the Chairman of the Intelligence and Security Committee of Parliament, which provides oversight of the UK’s intelligence agencies, MI6, MI5 and GCHQ, from 2010 until 2015. He is a Visiting Professor at King’s College, London and is a Distinguished Fellow of the Royal United Services Institute (RUSI). Sir Malcolm will be in conversation with Matthew Stadlen.
