Event:  Piano and Wind Quintet by Candlelight - 8pm - The final concert in our series will be of wind quintets, given by the Mayflower Ensemble; a group established to promote and celebrate the performance of high quality chamber music from diverse genres. The concert will feature works by Mozart and Holst, including in his 150th anniversary year, Holst’s Quintet for wind and piano, a piece marked by its lyrical, folk-inspired melodies and rich harmonic language, showing Holst’s early exploration of pastoral themes and his interest in English folk music.

Gill teaches piano in Salisbury, having attended the Junior Department of the Royal College of Music,whilst Zara studied at both the Junior Department of the Royal College of Music and then at Trinity College of Music. She now works for Cambridge University.
