Young British pianist Sophia Benton is a recent graduate of the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, where she was the first student to graduate with a degree in left-hand alone piano performance. After a netball injury at the age of thirteen left her unable to play with her right hand, she was encouraged to continue pursuing a career in music after discovering the vast pool of little known repertoire for the left hand that dates back to the late nineteenth century. Over the past ten years, Sophia has performed both well known and unheard piano works for left-hand alone, and regularly arranges music for herself. Sophia challenges the perception of what a classical pianist is through the skill and sensitivity of her playing, combined with a considerate selection of repertoire to showcase this niche area of pianism.

Determined to get a 'Grown Up Career' after years spent as a musician, Kevin trained as a Religious Studies Teacher, despite being an affirmed sceptic and non-believer. Whilst wrangling with disinterested kids in various Secondary Schools in Sussex during the day, Kevin increasingly pursued the business of stand-up comedy at night… inevitably something had to give. The show is a funny overview of the pitfalls and pratfalls that go with Kevin’s former profession of teaching; with a bit of pedagogical stuff (ooh-er) thrown in for good measure.

Event: 100 YEARS OF LAUREL & HARDY - 7.00pm - Following the success of his 2023/24 tour, Neil Brand invites you to celebrate the centenary of Laurel and Hardy with a brand-new show. In 1926, Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy signed separate contracts with Hollywood film mogul Hal Roach, and appeared for the first time in a film together, “45 Minutes from Hollywood”. The following year they would become an official comedy partnership that would set the whole world rocking with laughter. Nobody could have anticipated at the time how this unlikely Anglo/American comedy duo would become global icons in over 130 countries around the world. We are pleased to announce and celebrate those 100 years with the brand new production of Neil Brand’s “Evening with Laurel & Hardy” 2026 Centenary Tour. Neil has established himself as the foremost exponent of silent film and improvised piano accompaniment. Thanks to new restorations of their silent films, and the rediscovery of some of their lesser-known comedies, Neil will uncover gems of hilarity from the team whose comedy never ages, and bring them to jaw-dropping life with the demanding live piano improvisations for which he is so famous.
