Event: Buxtehude Membra Jesu Nostri: Choral music by Candlelight - 8pm - Ed Rimmer, Lay Vicar and Concert Programme Manager conducts professional singers and instrumentalists in Buxtehude’s Membra Jesu Nostri – one of the most profound devotional masterpieces of the Baroque. The cycle of cantatas meditates on the suffering Christ, combining poignant text, expressive vocal writing and glowing instrumental colour. Tickets are £15 for adults or £7.50 for children/students.

Event: Orpheus and his Lyre: the Salisbury Connection - Salisbury Baroque - 6.30pm - Performed by Salisbury Baroque. Salisbury Baroque will perform a selection of pieces from the Corfe Family Music Collection, which is part of the collections of Salisbury Cathedral Library. The Corfe family lived in Salisbury in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, and played a prominent role in the musical life of both the city and the Cathedral, working as singers, organists, conductors, and composers. The family’s music collection contains over 200 printed and manuscript scores of works that all have a Salisbury connection.
