Brown Street's monthly folk music event returns on Wednesday, October 19th. Folk Open Mic Night is a chance for folk musicians to take to the stage and perform, no matter how experienced they may be. Local folk musician and organiser Hadrian Cook spoke ahead of the first night, said: “Twenty years ago Salisbury was a centre for folk music, we can be again! Well done Brown Street. “Great idea to kick-start the Salisbury folk scene again….badly needed after lockdown. “Yes, a great idea. An importantly, we need to engage younger performers. They are out there, and they will like the Brown Street venue. “And be sure to be inclusive of music that is not just ‘traditional’. There are contemporary songs and tunes. We need these in the Revival.” People are encouraged to arrive from 7pm, with the event finishing at around 10pm. There is a buy one get one pizza offer available at Brown Street on the night.
