Brown Street music venue is planning to hold regular folk sessions. To start this off, they are holding an open mic nite. This starts at 7.30 on Wednesday 17th August. No need to book in advance, just turn up. If you wish to perform, please plan for three numbers. Amplification is provided for singers and musicians, so just bring your voice and any instrument you wish to play! We take the term of ‘folk’ to include not only traditional music from Britain and Ireland, but also blues, historic americana, instrumentals / jigs, reels, shanties, contemporary even drinking songs …..well you get the idea!
