Salisbury Chamber Chorus - Bach's Magnificat & Handel's Dixit Dominus
Start time: 7.30-9.30pm
Salisbury Chamber Chorus under director Simon McEnery bring their inimitable sound to two classics of the Baroque era, Bach's Magnificat and Handel's Dixit Dominus. The Chorus will be joined by regular pianist Peter Toye, with cellist Bryony Moody and oboist Rosalie Watson. Both pieces are thrilling examples of Baroque dynamism and energy, with some exquisite solos and ensembles, taken by members of the Chorus. (Salisbury Chamber Chorus is made up of singers from Wiltshire, Hampshire and Dorset, many of whom participate in festivals, opera productions, run choirs of their own, or give solo recitals themselves.) The concert takes place in the perfect surroundings of Wilton's beautiful and atmospheric Italianate Church.
