POETIKA 66: ‘A BIT OF SCOUSE…Celebrating the works of the Liverpool Poets known collectively as ‘The Mersey Sound:- Roger McGough OBE, CBE, Brian Pattern & Adrian Henri. These three contemporary writers/performers were part of the ‘POP Poetry movement which evolved in the North of England during the 60s, bursting onto the landscape of British cultural art, where their poetry, irreverent and full of life, reflected the mood of freedom expressed during that period, whilst also addressing the difficulties of working class life in the area and bringing the spoken word to a wider UK audience. Its a week later than normal this month which makes it 22nd of May, 7.30 for 7.45, upstairs at The Pheasant, Salt Lane, Salisbury. Contribution of £2-3pp please towards expenses.
