Music at Mottisfont: harpsichord recital a performance by Christopher D. Lewis, a including the world premiere of the rediscovered Lennox Berkeley 'Suite for the Harpsichord' (1930). Berkeley was a friend of Maud Russell and visitor to Mottisfont, and this particular piece has never previously been performed. The programme will include British music for harpsichord both old and new. Before the concert, Kate Hawnt will tell the little known tale of the life of Maud and Gilbert's son Raymond Russell, a keen harpsichord performer and a leading figure in the early twentieth century harpsichord revival.
