This relaxed performance welcomes families and those with special needs who would love to be part of a singing celebration, using Makaton language as an aid to communicating song and enabling self-expression. Event: Celebrate Opera: Hansel and Gretel - 7.30pm - For ticket details or more information visit www.salisburyartscentre.co.uk/whats-on/festivals/celebrate-opera-hansel-and-gretel - Following two years of sell-out success with Puccini operas, La Bohème and Tosca, Celebrate Voice's feature opera for 2017 is Engelbert Humperdinck's evocative and magical fairytale Hansel and Gretel. The superb cast of international opera singers have performed at the Royal Opera House, English National Opera, Welsh National Opera and with festivals and companies worldwide. With the intimate and beautiful surroundings of the Medieval Hall transformed into an enchanted forest for the week, this exceptional cast will be joined by a children's chorus of local young people, who take to the stage for this enchanting, family-friendly opera, translated into English especially for the 2017 Festival.

Ahead of his London showcase at the renowned Pizza Express Jazz Club, and as part of the Songlines Magazine Portuguese Fado series, Gil will present his new music, through influences from the Lisbon style, using his intimate band set-up of acoustic guitar, Portuguese guitar and accordion.
