All Floyd ShowcaseDate: Thursday 03 May 2018
Venue: Salisbury Arts Centre    map
Address: Bedwin Street, Salisbury, Wiltshire, SP1 3UT
Event: All Floyd Showcase - 8.15pm - For ticket details or more information visit www.salisburyartscentre.co.uk/whats-on/music/all-floyd-showcase - The formation of All Floyd began in November 2016 following Floyd conversations over many years between Dave (lead guitars) and Baz (keys). From the beginning they agreed that to properly attempt Pink Floyd material, they would have to truly commit to recreating the original music and sound effects as faithfully as possible, without sampling any of the original material. All sounds have been created from scratch, even down to the crying seagull effect used by Gilmour on 'Sheep', which originally happened when he accidentally swapped the input and output of his wah-wah pedal. Pete (bass) came on board soon after, adding both fretless and 5 string basses, as well as bringing his graphic design expertise. In the summer of 2017 they began to realise that they could really make the idea work, and set about trying to find the next member, and a name for the band. Soon after, they managed to persuade Jon (drums) out of musical retirement, and after much deliberation they decided on the name All Floyd. Neil (lead vocals and rhythm guitar) joined a few months later, completing the core of the band. With 5 musicians in place they set about putting their first set together, based on a mix of Pink Floyds studio recordings and live material. The final touch was to add Laurie on Saxophones, Natalie and Harry on backing/lead vocals. At their first showcase gig in the stunning surroundings of the Salisbury Arts Centre they will be performing songs from Dark Side of the Moon, Wish You Were Here, Animals, The Wall and The Division Bell.
