Updated Saturday 19 May 2012 - The last Saturday in the month is UK Roots Movement Night at The White Horse in Quidhampton, a country pub within walking distance of the city. The UK Roots Movement is a non-profit promotional co-operative run by a collection of musicians touring extensively and releasing new acoustic roots music within the UK. Updated Monday 27 February 2012 - HEELSTONE will be at Conrans on Friday 9 March from 8.30pm. Heelstone was formed in 2001 by two brothers and their sister who grew up playing music together. Since then they have performed at many events including festivals, weddings, parties and pubs. They have recently been joined by an old friend, Anf, who is a fantastic bodhran player and singer of Irish songs. Updated Tuesday 21 February 2012 - Up and coming Southampton band THE LOST SOULS CLUB joined the list of acts recorded by St Pauls Lifestyle's OVERGROUND SOUND on Saturday when they performed a livestreamed acoustic session with the music site. Overground Sound's 'roster' includes legendary 'A' Lister Tom Morello of Rage Against The Machine and Carl Restivo for Occupy and underground rap artist SGB (Sonny Green). "The Lost Souls Club music is known for its distinctive dark and edgy allure - there is a beauty within The Lost Souls Club sound… within a couple of bars you know who you're listening to" said Rose Paul. Angus Hamill-Stewart, Music Editor for Overground Sound, gave an insight to the session: "Working with The Lost Souls Club was a pleasure. They've started to be bring out a side of themselves that is rarely seen in the music industry nowadays. We're pleased to capture this originality in the session." Having headed the rock charts in Vietnam for a number of weeks, The Lost Souls Club have already announced their booking for Blissfields Festival in the summer. The Intercepteurs are described as "actually quite good Ska posters". They are a Salisbury-based, 6-piece band, playing third-wave Ska influenced by 60's beat, Trojan and Calypso, merged with modern pop. Their faster, syncopated island sound produces a steady beat, driven by high energy rhythms to get your feet tapping. Listing their interests as 'loafing about, grumbling, moaning, conspiracy theories, beer and internet porn', THE CLARKSONS reckon they are 'probably the laziest band in Salisbury'.
