Listing their interests as 'loafing about, grumbling, moaning, conspiracy theories, beer and internet porn', THE CLARKSONS reckon they are 'probably the laziest band in Salisbury'. Their influences include Hendrix, Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, ZZ Top and many others, and will play 'anything that has a tune and can be played without fiddling with backing tracks and all that shit'. Fronted by female vocalist Sami, Rhythm Room are a 5-piece band from Nailsea near Bristol, comprising experienced musicians on drums, keys, guitar and bass, and providing backing vocals to Sami. They are available for booking and are heading into the studio in December 2011 to record their first album. Updated Friday 02 September 2011 - Anja McCloskey, a Southampton-based singer and multi-instrumentalist (and former Irrepressibles member) is playing The Salisbury Arts Centre in Salisbury on the 10th September (Live lunch from midday). She releases her new single 'And Her Head/Impeccable' on 5 September - Featuring David Miatt (Thomas Tantrum) on acoustic guitar and vocals, and Oliver Austin (label mates, The Moulettes) on drums, both songs were recorded in the Victorian Quaker Hall in Southampton and mixed and produced by Anja's husband Andy Harris (Haunted Stereo). "The recording has a very natural sound," says Anja. "We tried to capture the feel of the location and did very little in terms of effects. They will be playing at Copythorne Carnival on Saturday 11 June 7pm and at the George in Shrewton on Saturday 2 July. Keith, aka Doug Hayride, started out playing blues and rock, but had fond memories of listening to Country singers like Don Gibson, Ray Price, Hank Williams and cowboy artists such as Roy Rogers. Keith developed his own style through playing Folk, Blues, Country, Country/Rock and roots-based genres of music and started writing his own songs in the early 90s. Jambo Reign is an original British rock band from Salisbury, comprising James Newton (vocals/guitar), Paul Newton (guitar/bv's), Ian Cook (bass) and Dave Williams (drums/bv's). The band formed in October 2008, and recorded their first EP, 'Secrets & Silhouettes', in April 2009 (produced by Rick Parkhouse, RNT Studios). The club has regular weekend entertainment and coming up on Saturday 19 March there is BLOOD RED SKY, the popular U2 tribute band from North Hampshire and on Saturday 2 April is THE SLEEVES, a popular covers band that was founded by the Coldplay tribute band Coolplay.
